The Travel Curators difference

Insider Access — Private Dinners, Fireside Chats & Doors That Open by Introduction

Private dinners with company founders, fireside chats with the C-suite, and behind-the-scenes access across Japan, Singapore and China — by introduction.

Insider access is Travel Curators' core difference: we open doors that cannot be booked or bought, because we began as the in-house travel desk of a private investment firm, and our founder's decades of relationships with business owners, executives and public figures across Asia make them possible. For a small number of travellers each year that means private dinners with the founders of globally significant companies, fireside conversations with the C-suite of renowned Asian conglomerates, and behind-the-scenes access to companies, R&D centres, landmarks and members-only events in Japan, Singapore and China. This access is relationship-led rather than transactional — which is precisely why no other operator or concierge can simply replicate it.

Why we can open these doors

Few travel companies begin life as the in-house travel desk of a private investment firm. Travel Curators did. Over many years our founder built genuine relationships across Asia — with business owners, the C-suite of renowned conglomerates, and public figures — first as an investor, and then as a trusted friend.

That distinction is everything. These doors do not open because a fee was paid; they open because of trust built over decades, and goodwill that cannot be wasted. We make introductions sparingly, for travellers we know will honour them, which is exactly why they remain available to us. It is access by relationship, not by transaction — the one thing a competitor cannot purchase.

What insider access looks like

No two of these are ever the same; each is built from a blank page around the traveller and the person, place or conversation they would find genuinely unforgettable. A sense of what our relationships have unlocked:

### Private dinners with the founders of globally significant companies An intimate, off-the-record dinner with the founder of a Fortune 500 company you have long admired — a real conversation rather than a staged appearance. On a retreat for a global network of company presidents, our founder has personally hosted such a dinner, bringing visiting members together with the city's own circle of business leaders.

### Fireside chats with the C-suite of renowned Asian corporations A private fireside conversation with senior executives of a renowned Asian conglomerate — on succession, business continuity, innovation or leadership. We have staged one as the centrepiece of a farewell dinner at a discreet venue, the menu built from rare ingredients the guests themselves had gathered earlier in the journey.

### Behind the scenes — companies, R&D centres and headquarters A by-invitation visit to the headquarters of one of Japan's most influential technology or manufacturing companies, hosted personally by its top executives, with access to state-of-the-art facilities normally closed to outsiders and a first-hand account of strategy and innovation. Deliberately intimate — kept to a handful of guests, and priced on enquiry.

### Members-only clubs, hidden tables and referral-only counters A members-only table opened by a single phone call; a kaiseki master who accepts only referral reservations from regulars; counters known to an initiated few rather than to any booking platform. The same relationships secure tee times at clubs among the country's most exclusive — reachable only through a member's introduction.

### Curated networking lunches for private clubs and peer networks For the travelling members of a private members' club, an intimate lunch headlined by a leading business figure alongside the club's local chapter — genuine peer-to-peer access woven into an otherwise gastronomy-led itinerary.

### Encounters with public figures and master artisans Money-can't-buy encounters facilitated by an enviable network: a private dinner with the cast of a major film, a session to hone your own craft alongside a globally recognised performer, or a private audience with a living master of a fading craft — many of them retiring without successors — with your spend flowing directly to the maker.

### Diplomatic and logistical doors When it matters, our relationships extend to the practical — expedited immigration and customs handling, air-bridge meet-and-greet, and the discreet facilitation that smooths the parts of a journey others cannot. We arrange it quietly, and only where it is genuinely needed.

A note on discretion and anonymity

You will notice we name no one — not the companies, not the counters, not the people. That is deliberate. Confidentiality is not a caveat to this service; it is the service.

The discretion that persuades a founder to sit down to dinner is the same discretion we extend to you. Specifics are shared privately, once we know one another, and never published. If a relationship of this kind appeared in a brochure, it would not survive contact with one.

Third-party validation

This is not a claim we have written for ourselves. International business press has described Travel Curators as holding, for true insider access, 'an impressive rolodex with the country's elite' — independent confirmation that the access is real, not aspirational.

The same relationships have, on record, facilitated everything from brown-bear safaris in the remote north of Hokkaido to private dinners with famous names of stage and screen. Travel media has separately credited the firm with helping to preserve culture by championing best-in-class artisans, many of them retiring without successors.

Across Japan, Singapore and China

Our deepest corporate relationships sit in Japan, but the principle travels. In Singapore — where we are our own ground operator, backed by a travel institution established in 1978 — insider access ranges from by-introduction meetings with founders and leaders to after-hours buyouts of landmark cultural and wildlife spaces the public cannot reserve. In China, the same instinct for relationships shapes intimate, expertly hosted journeys through a fast-moving present.

How to request insider access

Insider access is relationship-led and, by its nature, limited. We extend it to a small number of travellers each year, and only as part of a complete, multi-day journey we design and operate end to end — not as a standalone booking.

Our travellers typically invest from around USD 1,500 per person per day, excluding international flights, with set-pieces of this kind sitting at the upper end of that range and the most exclusive access priced on enquiry. A non-refundable planning fee from USD 150 per person per day applies and counts towards your trip. If this is the access you are looking for, tell us who you would find unforgettable — and we will tell you, honestly, what is possible.

Good to know

Frequently asked

Can you really arrange a private dinner with the founder of a major company?
Yes — where the relationship and the fit are right. Through our founder's investment-era network across Asia, we have arranged private, off-the-record dinners with the founders of globally significant companies, and fireside conversations with the C-suite of renowned conglomerates. These are introductions built on trust rather than bookings, so we extend them selectively and confirm what is possible privately, once we know you.
Is insider access available in Singapore and China, or only Japan?
All three. Our deepest corporate relationships are in Japan, but in Singapore — where we are our own ground operator — access ranges from by-introduction meetings with founders and leaders to after-hours buyouts of landmark venues, and in China it shapes intimate, expertly hosted journeys. The common thread is relationships, not a catalogue.
How far in advance should this be arranged?
As early as possible. A senior executive's diary, a by-invitation headquarters visit or a members-only table can require weeks or months of lead time, and some are tied to specific dates. The sooner we begin, the more we are able to open.
Why won't you name the companies, venues or people involved?
Because confidentiality is the service. The discretion that persuades a founder to sit down to dinner is the same discretion we owe every traveller. We describe what is possible in the abstract here and share specifics privately, once we know one another.
What does insider access cost, and who is it for?
It is for well-travelled individuals, families and the advisors who refer them — people who value a genuine encounter over a photo opportunity. Set-pieces of this kind sit at the upper end of our range; our travellers typically invest from around USD 1,500 per person per day excluding international flights, with the most exclusive access priced on enquiry. A non-refundable planning fee from USD 150 per person per day applies and counts towards the trip.
Can you arrange access to members-only clubs, R&D centres or company headquarters?
Yes. We arrange by-invitation visits to the headquarters of some of Japan's most influential companies, hosted by their senior executives and kept deliberately intimate. We also open members-only clubs, referral-only dining counters and, for some travellers, tee times reachable only through a member's introduction.

Let us design something only yours

We take on a limited number of journeys each year. If yours is one of them, it begins with a conversation — read by a Curator, and answered personally.
